Canada Day Garden Dinner

The long, sunny days of July have finally arrived along with some of the showiest blooms of summer. The pollinators are out in full force, making the gardens sing. At our family dinner on July 1 we slurped prosecco while the bees sipped nectar.

I brought a salad with nasturtiums and violas and a honey cinnamon dressing.

We were warned not to eat the seedlings on the buffet table!

We were treated to old fashioned strawberry shortcake for dessert and it was cool enough after the sun went down to light a fire in the living room. I can't remember ever having an indoor fire in July!
