Colony Farm Midsummer Fete

 I was honored to be invited to The Midsummer Fete this year to play the queen bee with my lovely colleague Maggie Winston as the Princess Bee. We had a grand time leading children on pollinating parades around the site. Where else can you hang out backstage with drag queens, milk maids, herons, hula hoop divas and a tap dancing chickadee?

 I was very charmed by the three lovely milkmaids who performed milking demonstrations.

In Remembrance

My son's great grandfather Hubert "Bertie" Burleigh Douse fought in the Battle of Vimy Ridge. He was wounded in battle and lost three brothers on the Western Front. On the way home from France by ship he missed the Halifax explosion by one day. He went on to live a full life and retired with his family in Vancouver.
