Summerhill: A Bee Friendly Okanagan Winery

It's so lovely to be able to visit an organic and biodynamic winery that understands the need for organic bee forage. We spent a lovely lunch hour at Summerhill winery watching the bees.

These are native Douglas asters. The bee has likely filled her baskets with pollen from a nearby wild rose bush.

The views from Summerhill winery are breathless.

This is catnip and perennial sage is a class combination for a long-blooming perennial border. Add Russian sage to this and it's a winning Okanagan trio for bees.

Of course, having blooming veggies in the food gardens also attracts bees.

And it always helps to have sweet treats for humans too! This cake was delicious.
