Yesterday Jean and I went to the
Turn to the Sun Sunflower Seedling Sale for the Stephen Lewis Foundation. There was a mind-boggling array of choices, and since Jean had already grown seedlings at home for taller varieties we chose some dwarf sunflowers and a mix of the more interesting varieties. These seedlings will end up in the MOP bee garden. I picked some dark chocolate coloured ones because I like the contrast between those and the more traditional sunflower colours. School children helped grow the sunflowers and the money goes to HIV/Aids sufferers in Africa. What a great idea! Check out their
web site.
