This is my lovely new friend who likes to hang out on the lowest step at the back of our house. He's smaller than a mason bee, and shiny and bronzed, with plenty of fur underneath for collecting pollen. In this photo you can even see the three little eyes on the top of its head. It seems to want to go under the potted strawberry on the step. I'll have to leave it there for a little home or at least a sheltered spot. One antenna is up and one is down--does that mean it's halfway between sleep and wakefulness?

My New Friend
This is my lovely new friend who likes to hang out on the lowest step at the back of our house.
